Halloween treats

I use 2 types of frosting.
Buttercream frosting or Royal Icing.
Buttercream frosting  or cream cheese definitely tastes the best. The kids love it. It’s more messy but worth it. When I make cookies for our family or friends I use this. I threw a little Halloween party and we used this frosting for the kids to frost and decorate their cookies with.
3 sticks butter (softened), 1 pound confectioner’s sugar, 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract. Beat butter on medium high for 2 minutes. Add sugar 1/2 cup at a time. Refrigerate up to 3 days.

Frosting that can stand up to anything : Royal Icing is a glossy icing that dries hard. When I package my cookies or make them for parties I usually use the Royal Icing. They look pretty and shiny. They transport very easily once they dry. I use Martha’s Royal Icing recipe found here Or 2 whipped egg whites, the juice of 1 lemon, and 4 cups powdered sugar. Mix and add more lemon juice if needed. Get the frosting thin enough to glide on the cookie. Let dry for a couple hours and then package.
Happy Halloween!

Love,

Jenna
