DIY bleach tees

This is such an easy and fun craft.  My daughter and her friend made these t-shirts at their late over and we love how they turned out!  Here is all you need:
~bleach
~a small paint brush
~small bowl for bleach
~blank colored t-shirts
Before you start, place a piece of card board inside the t-shirt.  If you can’t find any, cut one side off of a cereal box. This works well too!
Be creative and personalize it with any design. Although I was trying to persuade them into drawing a giant heart on one and giant star on the other, they insisted on having these little sayings. They turned out great and more personalized!

 A few quick tips:
1. Press brush against the top of the bowl to get excess bleach off.  Too much can put a hole in the t-shirt.  We went over our designs 2 times with light coats.
2. Leave cardboard in t-shirt until the bleach is dry.  This will prevent any bleeding through to the other side.
3. Look for t-shirts that are on sale.  Just in case you don’t like how it turns out and want to re-do it. There are tons of cheap ones right now at target, old navy and walmart.  The ones we used were $2.50 from old navy.
4. Be careful with the bleach and make sure to wipe up any that may drip or spill on the table to avoid unwanted bleach marks.
The girls are over the moon with the finished product and are already planning to make more for the 4th of July.  I love the idea to have stars, a flag or the word ‘freedom’ bleached into a navy or red shirt. I want to make one for myself too. We can’t wait!

XOXO
