Beauty Tricks for CONTOURING & HIGHLIGHTING

Highlighting & Contouring is a game changer in the beauty world. It will sculpt your face shape and highlight your facial features. When contouring you want to use matte products so they don’t shimmer and stand out. Highlighting is the exact opposite. You want to bring out your features with a little glow and light. Let’s talk about how we can accentuate our features and sculpt our faces. It’s actually really incredible to see the results! You can do this daily by using less of a dramatic approach. Then, for date night or special occasions you can go all out by using more product. I love the way my skin looks after using this method. You can make your eyes pop while having the jawline of your dreams.

1.The right brushes are essential for contouring & highlighting your face. This double sided brush does the job perfectly. One side for bigger areas and a smaller side for more detailing needs like the eye area. All you need is this brush and #2. The beauty blender.

2. If you haven’t joined the beauty blender craze, now is your chance. It’s pretty much the best thing since sliced bread. It can do anything! The streak free application process will leave your skin and make up looking amazing. It’s made for foundations, concealers, blush, blending and contouring! It’s amazing.

3. BARESKIN by bareMinerals is super hydrating. It will cover and hide dark circles, imperfections, discoloration and blemishes. It’s the perfect concealer. My hang up with concealers is the lack of moisture in them. They seem to cake and dry out super fast. I can spot anyone that wears a drying concealer. This BARESKIN  is the opposite. That’s why the name is Concealer Serum! It’s super hydrating with humectants to draw water to your skin. You will love this. Concealing imperfections is key in contouring your face. Apply under eyes and to any discoloration or blemishes you may have. A little goes a long way.

4. Have you heard of this SKIN FOUNDATION STICK? It’s an incredible nude foundation stick you can apply everywhere to even your skin tone and enhance your features. Apply this right after you moisturize. This stick is hydrating just like your #3 concealer. Apply across your forehead, nose, cheeks and chin. Use your beauty blender  sponge to rub it in. Apply #3 after.

5. Translucent Setting Powder this is made of cashmere talc. It feels like cashmere! This will help create a soft focus on your skin by enhancing your features and setting the rest of your make up in place. You will have this for at least a year. A little goes a very long way.

6. NYX products are super cool and inexpensive. This Sculpt and Highlight face duo is amazing. It’s like a 2 for 1! I love that it does the trick and travels easily in a purse.

7. The Multiple stick is incredible because you can use this for so many purposes. Eyes, cheeks and highlighting. One swipe and you are done. Your beauty blender sponge can smudge out any lines and make everything look well blended.

8. This FILTER POWDER is new for me. I started using this a couple months ago and I’m smitten. It really is like a filter ( even better than the ones on instagram). After your make up is on use your brush and apply this all over your face. It will blur flaws and highlight your features. I love keeping this in my purse for convenience. #5 does the very same thing but I keep the loose powder in my bathroom to prevent messes and take this compact with me on the go.

9. The next TWO BRONZERS are top of my list. The bronzing brick by Bobbi Brown is always a good choice. The golden shades are the perfect combination of bronze shimmer. You apply it to the areas on your face that would be hit by the sun.

10. Did you read about this gem HERE? It’s the Queen of all bronzers for face and body. It’s nickname is “baked body frosting.” The perfect color and the perfect

11. This HIGHLIGHTENING BRICK of goodness is definitely a must while contouring  & highlighting your face. You will need this for your cheek bones and decolletage (neck area) or anywhere else you want to glow & accentuate. This will highlight your features and give you a bit of color with a light of shimmer. I love using these on my cheek bones.

12. To highlight your EYES use this STROKE OF LIGHT wand. It will cover the dark in your eye area and bring out the beauty of your features.

One last tip. I get the best tips from my girlfriends. In the summer I try and keep my skin a few shades darker with a self tanner. I go to a tanning booth once a month to get sprayed. You can research the spray tan booths in your area and find one that uses VERSA SPA products. It’s the best spray tan product out there. The color is golden brown. I use the light organic. Then during the month to maintain this spray tan, I use these amazing TOWELETTES a couple times a week to help my tan last longer. These are streak free and convenient. I’m obsessed with them!!Get out of the shower and get completely dry. No lotion. Then simply wipe the towelettes evenly over the areas you want to tan.
