Hi friends! I thought I’d write about something a little bit different today. Music is everything! I use it all day long and I’m constantly trying to find new songs to keep me going during the day. I’ll start sharing my playlists I use for workouts and long cardio sessions. But first, how about CHRISTMAS!
If I had my way, I’d start playing Jingle Bells on November 1st… but since I’m worried Dennis might move out I try to wait until we are washing the Thanksgiving dishes to bust out my holiday tunes. Here are some fun albums I LOVE if you’re wanting to spruce up your Christmas playlists!
Did you know Zooey Deschanel can sing? Like REALLY sing! She teams up with M. Ward on this album to sing classic holiday songs in a low-key, jazzy way. LOVE. My favorite track has to be Baby It’s Cold Outside. I’m a sucker for pretty much any male/female duet.
They also have a newer Christmas album called
Christmas Party that’s lovely.
Super upbeat, rock inspired songs of classics that your kids will love. Angels We Have Heard on High is my favorite track. Their original I Celebrate the Day is so great, and they even have a song called Boxing Day for all the Canadians in your life.
Kaskade is one of the most respected DJs in the world. He’s been spinning since 1995, and has managed to stay relevant through all the technology and music changes of the past 20+ years. His brand new Christmas album has fresh takes on the classics with an electronic twist. O Come Emmanuel featuring Skylar Grey is a standout!
Sia can do no wrong. Everything she sings or collaborates on I immediately love! The track from this album I love most is Santa is Coming For Us. It’s so upbeat and peppy, plus you’ll find a slew of new favorites. And that title is a great sentiment: if everyday were Christmas wouldn’t people be so much kinder and happier?
If you aren’t already listening to Lindsey Stirling, you’re in for a real treat. Her electric violin skills are unreal, and this album is full of killer collaborations like- Christmas C’mon with Becky G and newcomer Sabrina Carpenter on You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch that you can sing along with. The title track is awesome too, featuring Trombone Shorty. How can someone be so talented and beautiful! I’m in awe of this girl!
What is everyone else listening to this holiday season? I’m thinking of starting a spotify account with playlists… let me know if that’s something you’d be interested in! You can email me, or DM me. And happy listening!
I linked my TOP THREE TOPS under $50 right now. Check them out.
Merry merry,
Jenna
