Fairy Birds
Yesterday I woke my girls up to open a fun surprise. In this darling package was a vibrant mix of fairy accessories with a new book called Fairy Birds. I told them that after church I would take them to a special place, let them dress up in all the fun things and read the book. I wanted the excitement to last and for this to be an experience.
In the later afternoon we headed down to the ocean dressed and ready to read.
My oldest daughter wanted to read it to her little sisters.
This book is amazing and they all loved it! My favorite thing about this series is the good messages behind them. This is the first one and it is about giving. Something that is sometimes hard to remember as a kid but so important.
Their favorite part was the most special heart shaped confetti called “Givie Hearts” at the end of the book.
After they read the book they took turns wearing all the accessories. I loved capturing them in this fantasy world of dress up.
I found them in a cave reading it again before we headed back.
This new series is a must for every little girl! It was written by twin sisters Heather and Heidi from right here in Southern California. It started with a fashion accessories brand they have called True Birds which sells in places like Nordstrom and Henri Bendel. The past 3.5 years they have been creating a children’s literary brand called Fairy Birds. They wanted to write a book series that made a difference in the children’s literary world. To create and provide fun, colorful and quality literature that secretly teaches beautiful messages like service, kindess and others through the book series.
It’s been a labor of love for these darling sisters. Fairy Birds has already won a book award even before the launch, 2013 Book of the Year by Creative Child! Anthropologie is looking to carry it in their stores this spring and Real Simple & Parents Magazine want to feature it too!

Your girls reading this book is just beautiful! I love the expressions on their faces as they read this book! I especially loved the moment of throwing those confetti givie hearts! This book is perfection, what a brilliant idea!
