Husband:
My husband is Cullen. We’ve been married for 16 years and he and I are as close to opposites as they come. He is a health/fitness nut married to me who loves all things indulgent. We balance each other out nicely.
Children:
We have three boys, Mason, Brady and Paxton. I always thought I’d be a mom to girls, but couldn’t be happier with my boys.
I started writing
Picky Palate after I participated in cooking competitions from 2004-2007. I wanted a place to share the recipes I created and thought “why not start a blog?” I had no idea what I was doing, but somehow I did it. I started Picky Palate late 2007 and have had so much fun, it hardly feels like a job.
Who has been your greatest mentor along the way?
I’d say my husband and kids, since I named the blog after my boys when they were toddlers. Picky little stinkers. I’m happy to say that they will try new foods and are less picky than when they were younger.
First thing you do in the morning:
First thing I do in the morning is get on the computer, I know how predictable. After the boys get to school, my husband and I go to the gym together. After the gym, it’s playing with Pax while developing new recipes and catching up on computer work.
Describe your personal style:
Hmmm, I’m all over the board. Currently, I love a great pair of jeans, ankle boots and comfy cute top. I love Tory Burch, Kate Spade, J Crew, Gap and Nordstrom. Most of the time I am in my workout clothes until at least 2pm when I finally get a shower.
How you stay fit:
I go to the gym with my husband 5 days a week doing cardio and strength training. I love doing heated yoga too.
Number one beauty item:

How you balance life:
I try to find a good balance with work, family and play. Still working on it all of the time!

Hard to pick just one….but I love this one from Thomas S. Monson “Don’t save something for a special occasion. Every Day of your life is a special occasion.”
