Real Mom, Jessica Shyba + stroller giveaway
Today we are thrilled to have Jessica Shyba, aka Momma’s Gone City as our real mom. Not only is Jessica a supermom raising three kids in New York City but she is quite the beauty with many talents. The Honest Company named her instagram feed one of the Top Ten Best of 2013. Trust me, when you start following her on instagram you will feel like you are on the best adventure in NYC. She has such an eye for photography and captures precious moments with her kids. Her blog is fabulous and was voted top 100 mom blogs. She works with many companies including Red Rover, Target, and Babble. This keeps her heavily involved in the social media world. I definitely respect Jessica for the type of mom she is. You can feel and see how much she loves being a mom.
A little background on Jessica:
I moved to NYC from the Bay Area nearly four years ago with my family so that my husband could attend NYU Dental School. I had a 2 year old and a 1 year old at the time, and while it was a difficult adjustment acclimating to the super urban lifestyle, it was the best thing for me as a person. Jack is now 6, Zoe is 4 and Beau is 15 months and we are gearing up to move back to the Bay Area once my husband graduates in May of this year.
When did you start your blog?
I started my blog just before we moved to New York City almost four years ago. I had intended it to be an online journal to keep my family up with our new life in the city, and it turned out to be this amazing life-changing journey.
Do you encourage other women to blog?
I absolutely encourage women and mothers to blog. While it can be demanding at times, it is fulfilling as a creative outlet and can be really cathartic and fun. I have so appreciated the community that I have been introduced to through blogging.
How would you describe your personal style?
I would say I try to maintain a very livable wardrobe while incorporating a few edgy pieces, a few chic pieces, and a few super pretty pieces. Motherhood style doesn’t have to be compromised-something I’ve had to learn since my first baby was born.
What are your top 3 favorite kid brands?

You are definitely known as a super mom and so many people follow your adventures in NYC. What are your favorite NYC activities to do with your kids?
I’m not sure I would say that I’m a super mom, but I appreciate the compliment! Our favorite things to do in NYC range from days at the Met or American Museum of Natural History to walks through Central Park, shopping at the Union Square Greenmarket, and tucking away in Books of Wonder with hot chocolates from City Bakery. There is always something to do here! I will miss that most of all, I’m sure.
What is your way of re-charging as a mom?
I wish I could say that I work out or get massages to recharge, but I never have time for that. I’ve found my own happiness and therapy in photography honestly. It’s been another great creative outlet for me.
I know raising 3 kids in NYC can be very challenging. What are a few of your tips and tricks.
My biggest challenges with the kids in the city is often the weather and/or transportation, so finding options within walking distance is crucial for any given day or time. I have a great baby carrier (the ErgoBaby) and a favorite stroller and a few helpful apps: RedRover for finding local activities, CityTransit for transportation and Seamless Web for when I can’t get dinner ready in time.

I unfortunately have a Bugaboo and I just can’t stand it! I don’t understand all the hype!? But the Stokke is so beautiful and perfect for my needs, now that I know what they are (5 months in). I am about to have my first child and have been researching strollers for a few days now. I sent a link for the Stokke Xplory to my husband and he has fallen in love with it just as much as I have. This is everything my stroller isn’t!! My husband is about to literally throw ours away…its seen better days to say the least. The quality and thought into this stroller makes it perfect..I like the newborn, relaxed and up right seating…height changing…works for husband and me..newborn or toddler..im sure the stearing is easy and smooth..I mean really, whats not to love!

I would love love love a new stroller. First time mother and planning to be a mother to two later this year I need something I can count on. I didn’t know what to look for before but this stroller clearly has all the bells and whistles, as well as everything you need in a stroller! I love the fact I can see baby in rear facing position and the ventilation is amazing as well! Also, the adjustable footrest… Never heard of that in a stroller before! I would love this for all of the reasons but most of all is because we could never afford such an amazing luxury. Being military you don’t get paid for all the hard work that goes unsaid and done. It is my dream stroller for our first baby coming very soon! Its so stylish and versatile. I love that I will be able to put my new born in the carry cot, but keep using it until 45 lbs.

oh, i just love jessica! i’ve been following her since she started her blog and instagram feed. she is so passionate and encouraging and sees the cup half full, always! and obviously, so stylish! i’ve always respected her taste in strollers, being that it is her “car” in NYC. the stokke is amazing! i like what jessica said–that it can be adjusted for taller people. i’m not super tall, but tall enough and my husband is pretty tall, so this would be great for him- he tends to complain when handles are too short. 🙂 I also love that it can be pulled right up to a table when eating and the add on accessory of a standing board, perfect for my other kiddos! i have followed and liked on everything. 🙂

I love STOKKE largely because of their modern design and durability of the strollers. super stylish and cool looking!! i test drove it around the store when i was looking for a stroller with my twins and because they didn’t have a twin stroller at that time, i couldn’t buy one (i had very limited selections at that time). by the time i had a single third child, i still had the other two in their double and carried him everywhere in a chest carrier or let him ride solo in the double when needed. now that my 3 boys are older and I am having a fourth (and girl) and needing a single stroller that isnt thrashed from 3 boys, i would LOVE to have this giveaway!!! jillpahnke@gmail.com or jillpahnke@hotmail.com

Her daughter is 7 months and was born premature with spastic cerebral palsy. Im a budding photographer and mom of two. Often times I have to bring my youngest with me to outdoor on location shoots. The light weigh of this stroller would make it ideal for me when lugging around baby and my equipment to these shoots, the soft suspension would make it a breeze for the uneven terrain. And well around town running errands, lunch and play dates with the gals, would just be simple and enjoyable. free hands, ample storage for whatever. Man life would just get a whole lot easier!

What a great versatile (and cute!) stroller! This would add amazingly to our family of 4 with another one on the way! I absolutely love the feature of being able to use it as a high chair in restaurants! It’s hard enough trying to manage a 4 year old and 2 year old in a restaurant, let alone a new bundle of joy! I had a lot of complications at birth that just affected my emotion and physical well being. I would LOVE a Stokke for my 8 month old. He was born with cataracts in both eyes so he had to have his lenses removed. He’s doing really well and we’re so grateful for modern medicine. The versatility of this stroller seems to be the most appealing part of it. I’ve seen many moms struggle in malls or restaurants with huge, bulky strollers. This would definitely help eliminate a lot of those challenges.

Oh my goodness. What a cool stroller! New baby is coming in 2 weeks so I’d LOVE this stroller! Finances are tight right now, so we weren’t going up get a stroller. This would be amazing!!
