Tell us how Pinterest Told Me To came to be.
Shay, one
of my best friends, started a food blog called Mix and Match Mama about a year or so before I
started my blog. She was having a lot of fun with it, and
one day when we were at the pool with our kids she suggested that I
start a blog too. I was like “Um, okay! Sounds like fun!” Pinterest had really just come on the scene and I was
OBSESSED, so I thought it would be fun to combine Pinterest with a
blog. I had the idea to start taking all of the outfits that I’d pinned on Pinterest and try to recreate them. Soon after Pinterest Told Me To was born in August of 2011!Basically, I’m just a wife and mom trying to look cute when I walk out the door, and I’m using Pinterest to help me do it! Now readers follow along to see my standard Pinterest recreations, and they also to “come along” on shopping trips with me. I hope I’m making shopping and getting dressed easier and more fun for lots of busy ladies and mamas out there!

What’s the first thing you do in the morning?Iwake up and head straight to my couch, open up my laptop, and
get to work on the blog. I make sure I get up at least an hour before the rest of
my family because I get my best work done when I’m the only one awake in the house!
Favorite snack? That’s an easy one. I eat Nut Thins with a sour cream and salsa dip that I mix together. YUM!
What is you’re number one beauty item? Hmmmm.
I’m going to cheat on this one because I have two things that I
cannot live without. Like I would FREAK OUT if I ran out of any of these things or left them at home while going on vacation or something.

1) Lip Gloss. My favorite right now is Mac Viva Glam. I’ve been wearing it now for about 2 years and even though I have and love other glosses, this one is my consistent favorite right now.

Describe your style:
My style is easy and basic, and comfort is key with me.
I’m not one of those girls that is willing to sacrifice comfort for fashion. No m’am.

What has surprised you most about motherhood?
Goodness. What hasn’t surprised me about motherhood?
I had no idea how hard it would be.
I had no idea how exhausting it would be.
I had no idea how all consuming it would be.
I had no idea how much I would worry!
I had no idea how absolutely precious it would be.
I had no idea how rewarding it would be.
I had no idea how life changing it would be in all of the best possible ways.
Sure, people tell you all of the above, but you have NO IDEA until you become a mama yourself!
I mean. Just look at his sweet little face. He melts me.
Favorite way to stay fit:
I am NOT the person to ask about this! Every year I gain 15 pounds and every year I lose 15 pounds. I know it’s awful, but it’s just what I do! When it comes time for me to shed my winter coat :), I just eat super healthy, ride my exercise bike, and drink tons of water. It works every time!
How you spend your me time: This is pretty boring, but I’ve been so busy lately managing being a wife, mom, speech
therapist, and keeping up the blog that what I’ve come to love most right
now is when I’m able to sit down for a bit and just watch what I want to
watch on t.v.!!! Even if it’s just an old Friend’s episode or something like that. Just sitting and watching is so relaxing.

What’s something people would be surprised to know about you?I hate cotton balls. Like I REALLY hate cotton balls.Touching them is like nails on a chalkboard to me. Yes, I’m fully aware I’m crazy. 🙂
