When waxing any given area the hair needs to be at least the length of an eyelash. When waxing your underarms use a deodorant without antiperspirant. It will come off much easier before the wax. I also like to wear a tank top when waxing my underarms so I don’t have to get into a spa gown.
2. How to manage the pain-
If you are worried about the pain during a wax, take one or two Advil before the appointment. Also you can buy Completely Bare’s numbing & cooling spray called NOT FEELING IT. This product has 4.00% Lidocaine. This will cool and numb the skin. Only apply it to the area being waxed. This can be applied 15 minutes before your wax. Also, find a spa or office that uses ouchless cream wax. Honey wax tends to hurt more. Remember that the pain during a wax session only lasts for a few moments. It hurts because the hair root is being completely pulled out. Waxing hurts the most the week before your period. The best time to wax is the week after your period.
3. How long do results last –
Depending on your hair re-growth, the results can last between 3 to 6 weeks. Continued waxing can result in reduced hair growth.
4. What areas of the body can be waxed-
Wax can be used everywhere! Frequently waxed areas for women include legs, arms, underarms, bikini, brazilian, eyebrows, and face. Men tend to wax chest, legs, arms, back, and shoulders.
5. How to take care of your wax the first 24 hours-
The area waxed will be a little sensitive for the first 24hours. Do not use any scrubs and do not expose the area to the sun. Use hydro cortisone cream to treat redness or swelling.
6. Bikini vs. Brazilian –
This is the most common question I get asked about. Here is the scoop. A bikini wax focuses on the sides. (where a swimsuit would be) A Brazilian wax involves taking all the hair off. Yep, all the hair. This is where the numbing cream comes in handy because it hurts. Many women do this so they don’t have to worry about any hair peeking out. Especially during swim suit season.
7. In Grown Hairs –
I have the best product for ingrown hairs. BB Blaster will become your best friend. Look it up here. This will tackle any ingrown hairs in any area. Use one pad to wipe the area with ingrowns. The salicylic acid will prevent them fro growing in.
If your hair is coarse and you are prone to ingrown hairs you should definitely laser. It will be way better in the long run. Laser on any body part is the best solution if it affects your every day life. It’s just a good feeling to wake up in the morning and not have to shave. Lasers have come a long way. Now that we have access to lasers that are almost pain free and offer amazing results we would be crazy not to.
4. How to prepare for a laser-
You need to come to your laser treatment with the area completely shaved. Do not have sun exposure or previous waxing for 6 weeks before treatment.
